An impressive performance by Victoria Colvin this week led to championship tricolors in both the Anatares Large Junior Hunter and the Marley Goodman Small Junior Hunter 15 & Under divisions.

Most of us in the equestrian world are familiar with those aspects of our sport that separate it from the more familiar and traditional sports. In fact, we’re all quite well-versed in the terminology that helps us compare riding to those other sports so that our non-horsey friends and family members can understand – descriptions that relate dressage to the floor exercises executed by gymnasts or describe three-day eventing as a triathalon.
Although it was a rainy weekend, it managed to be the busiest weekend so far for me taking pictures! Hope you enjoy!

My quest to go to the Young Rider Endurance World Championships started at the AERC convention last February. I was with fellow teammate Kyle Gibbon when we met the French author Leonard Liesens who had just heard the news that the UAE (United Arab Emirates) would be hosting the championships. For the 1st time ever the hosting country would be paying for each country to send a team. What an opportunity…right then Kyle and I both made it our goal to be a part of that team!
Results are in for the first in the series!

Late last August I was hired as a working student by my trainer, Ashleigh Luca Tyson. She was expecting a baby and quit riding at 12 weeks pregnant. It was on me and the other two working students to keep riding and training the horses at the barn while she came out to teach us.
Let’s face it, if you ride horses you are probably going to fall. Hopefully your won’t get hurt, but sometimes injuries do happen. Last summer I had an unfortunate fall. I tore my ACL in my left knee and this past November I had surgery to make me a new ACL. Something like this means lots of downtime, but it doesn’t have to mean no time with your horse. I would like to share with you some of the things I’m doing while waiting to get back in the saddle…

Today’s my birthday and it really got me thinking about what a gift is…without getting to deep or insightful I just wanted to share my thoughts.
Sometimes it feels like people forget that vaulting is an EQUESTRIAN sport. Not just tricks on a horse, but a performance WITH the horse.
Very exciting weekend for endurance! Young riders really excelled at the Piney Pig ride down by West Palm Beach in South Florida. This was an FEI event with distances of 50 & 75 on Friday and 50, 75 & 100 on Saturday. I kept getting updates from my endurance family throughout the weekend and really wish I had been there racing.

I’m Emily Schnebel. I’m 14 years old and I own a pony named Blue Suede Shoes, aka Elvis. I have two older sisters, Grace and Brie. I have four cats and a dog.

More and more riders are catching on to the idea of riding in college these days. Therefore, many colleges have begun offering diverse riding programs to intertwine with your studies. However, it is easy to become overwhelmed by all of these choices. USEF is here to help!
This weekend, I’ve been asked to do a presentation about college riding for a group of Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) riders during the evening pizza party at the end of their show day.
I have always loved horses, but when I was younger I could have never imagine having an equestrian career. Physically demanding work, extreme hours and work emergencies are big, big, huge!
Additional classic winners in the Pony Hunter divisions include Vivian Yowan and Lili Hymowitz. Yowan and her mount, Best Case Scenario, a Welsh/Thoroughbred cross owned by Saddle Ridge Farm LLC, took the top spot in the $2,500 Florida Large Pony Hunter Classic with a combined score of 171.

Rider of the Week: Daisy Farish
Even though she may be one of the younger children on the “A” and “AA” circuit, you better watch out for 10 year old, Daisy Farish. Daisy is from a family who basically began a legacy. All of the Farish children have ridden or do still ride. Just recently, Daisy has made a big impact on the pony world.
