How to become a HPRW candidate
Welcome to JEM’s weekly Horse/Pony & Rider recognition.
Many times we’ll recognize those that have demonstrated talent, ability, achievement, horsemanship, or because of a sportsman-like attitude that shows in everything they do. This is open to ALL our junior & yr subscribers, regardless of riding level or discipline.
If you’d like to be considered- or would like to nominate someone (or some horse/pony) , please email your information or nomination: HPRW@jrride.com. You should also include at least one photo and if possible, a link to a recent video of you showing or schooling and tell us why you should be recognized (don’t be shy!).
Remember, this is meant to be fun. Don’t think we don’t value your achievement if you aren’t chosen right away. You’ll be in our pool for consideration- and the wait will have been worthwhile when you finally become our JEM Horse/Pony or Rider of the Week.
*Thanks to Chad Millen who started the HPRW recognition during our Nov 2011 launch

About the Author (Author Profile)
I’ll never forget how sad I was to say “good-bye” to Merilee, a cute medium welsh-x I’d leased from my trainer’s student who lived out of state. She “left” a couple days before Christmas but my mom insisted I go to the barn to take pictures anyway. A picture of misery, with messy hair and tear-stained face, I was stunned & amazed to see my trainer lead Merilee out of her stall, fully braided with a holly leaf & Christmas tag in her forelock that read “From Santa”. Merilee was the beginning of a life-long love and passion that I’m certain many of you share..
I did hunters as a child, eventing as a teenager and a mix of those and showjumping as an adult. I taught lessons and trained for several years, had a career in Sales, and now I sit behind a laptop in attempt to create something wonderful- for myself, my family and for you. My horse life is temporarily on hold, but not for long..
Hope you enjoy the time you spend with JEM.
